The Concert:
In this two-set concert, internationally acclaimed songwriter-performers Judith-Kate Friedman and Daniel Deardorff celebrate romance, fidelity, compassion, justice, community, and the power of song. The program features their original and classic love songs-- many written for each other-- and musical settings of poems by Rumi and Robert Bly. Beautifully filmed at KEY CITY PUBLIC THEATRE , the video has become a classic brimming with love, humor and the artist's most potent songs. Judith-Kate Friedman and Daniel "3D" Deardorff were life partners and musical compadres from 2006-2019. The Mythsinger Legacy Project is keeping Daniel Deardorff's music, mythtelling, and teaching alive as she grows in the lineage of his -- and our -- vision: to restore the wisdom of myth to culture and community.
This event is offered on a pay-as-you-can, pay-what-you-wish basis with all funds benefiting the Mythsinger Legacy Project, a fiscally-sponsored project of Songwriting Works Educational Foundation (501c3).
The Evening:
We'll gather around the virtual hearth on zoom to listen together. Before and after the concert Judith-Kate will read new poems and add a song or improvisation or two. Afterward, we'll share conversation together and celebrate love-- past, present, and future.
